Modi’in, Israel, March 24, 2009 . Rontal Applications Ltd. (www.rontal.com), a leading provider of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) solutions, today announced a new suspect-tracking module for its advanced incident management system, SimGuard. This new module enables tracking of suspicious objects including, people and vehicles. These objects can be tracked easily in crowded environments, both indoor and outdoor, such as buildings, campuses, and throughout other facilities and complexes that are equipped with cameras, including public highways and city streets. This new capability, allows for the first time to anticipate a suspect’s future moves thereby enabling security staff to make an interception and thwart their crimes.
Facilitating “automatic handshakes” between cameras, the new patent-pending technology uses a scenario-oriented, path-prediction algorithm enabling SimGuard to automatically choose and present the relevant cameras covering the suspect’s optional future pathway. Moreover, the system provides the operator with the ability to identify areas which are not covered with cameras. In order to provide operators with an updated situational awareness picture, SimGuard automatically presents the suspect’s real time location and path history.
Should the tracking be lost due to obstruction or gaps, the suspect-tracking module immediately analyzes the suspect’s track history, and presents a number of alternate locations where the suspect may be on the site’s 3D GIS display. These locations can be checked immediately by the SimGuard operator or by field teams, thereby making it possible to relocate the suspect within seconds.
“Being the leader of PSIM solutions, Rontal is obligated to provide the market with the most advanced technologies”, says Roni Zehavi. “The lack of proven technology that is able track an object within crowded urban environments lead us to develop this unique suspect tacking module”.
SimGuard is a comprehensive incident management system that integrates data from all safety and security devices in order to provide operators and managers with complete situational awareness and decision support tool. Customized to each user’s needs, Rontal’s SimGuard superimposes real time events over a 3D geospatial presentation of the user’s facilities, including the integration of advanced analytical algorithms such as crowd behavior, blast effect, flood and fire and gas propagation.
